In 2011 Paul-Tittle Search Group began a new practice in Sustainability Search under the direction of Krista Steele.
In Accenture's recent survey of more than 700 Global CEO's entitled, "A New Area of Sustainability", 93% agreed SUSTAINABILITY is a key to competitiveness.
Sustainability encompasses improving operational efficiencies by reducing waste, utilizing greener logistics and renewable energy, partnering and collaborating with suppliers that share the same sustainability goals, improving working conditions, i.e. adaptation to LEED Certified buildings to improve the health and safety of employees, saving money and reducing the overall corporate carbon footprint.
Since the economic downturn, stakeholders- including investors, consumers and government are demanding a new level of corporate transparency. Corporations are re-evaluating all aspects of procurement, supply chain, logistics, packaging, facilities and overall environmental impact to spotlight inefficiencies and make improvements which will save money and gain public favor. Companies are also increasing investment into research for greener products.
Evaluating, implementing and communicating sustainability efforts is a challenging job. Companies are hiring Chief Sustainability Officers to execute this monumental, vital effort. According to a salary survey released by the Greenbiz Group in 2011, the average salaries for Sustainability Vice Presidents $192,064, Sustainability Directors $160,320 and Sustainability Managers $103,197. Corporations realize the importance of this role and its value to the future of their organizaions.
